The 2025 MiTown Economic Development Challenge will be an in-person event from 9:00am-1:00pm on Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Federal Reserve Bank - Detroit Branch.
Each school may apply for up to 2 teams to participate in the MiTown Economic Development Challenge. The teams should consist of a minimum of 3 students with a maximum of 5 students per team. This application will close on February 25 at 5:00pm or when we have reached our capacity of 20 teams. When registration closes we will email teachers to collect the names of the participating students from each school and any dietary restrictions, etc.
Lunch will be available for students beginning at 11:30am. Presentation slots will be assigned 1 week prior to the competition. Teams should plan on arriving to the Federal Reserve 30 minutes prior to their scheduled presentation time. Presentations will last 20-25 minutes and will be scheduled from 8:30am-11:30am. When not presenting, teams may choose to leave the Federal Reserve and explore the revitalized City of Detroit with their advisor. All teams must be present at the Federal Reserve at 11:30am for lunch, our guest speaker, and awards ceremony. The event will conclude by 1:00pm.
Each member of the winning team, and their advisor, will be awarded a $250 cash prize.
