Money Chats is a virtual professional development series designed to support teachers who are preparing to teach AP Business with Personal Finance. The Michigan Council is hosting the first event in the series, Unit 1: Businesses, Competition & New Ideas. Units 2, 3, & 4 will be hosted by other CEE affiliates in subsequent months. Registration information will be shared once the other sessions are scheduled.
Unit 2: Marketing (March TBD) Unit 3: Finance & Accounting (April TBD) Unit 4: Management & Strategy (May TBD)
Each one-hour session focuses on a single unit from the public AP Business with Personal Finance course framework and combines high-level content discussion, original classroom activities, and conversation around instructional strategies.
The series is led by Alex Lamon, Executive Director of the New Jersey Council for Economic Education and a current pilot teacher of AP Business with Personal Finance. Alex facilitates the sessions in his capacity as a classroom educator and CEE affiliate leader, not in any official role with the College Board.
What the Session Includes (1 hour)
Sessions are designed to be practical, discussion-based, and immediately useful, rather than lecture-driven or prescriptive.
Attendees will receive 1 SCECH for each unit they attend in the series.
